Trying to keep this thing current... Even if it means just droppin sketches :). Anyways, heres a sketch I just did... Waiting on some emails so I can get back to client work.
annnnddd, I'm gonna keep leaving music links to whatever I mostly listened to while I worked... Mostly because it surely influences how fast I paint/subject matter(for the most part).
WOLF! Love this band! Theyre everything I love about metal... This album is the newer one, their older stuff is awesome as well(if you like this stuff).
Worked this up little under an hour tonight. I'm not happy that I can't finish it... but I'm in the middle of packing and working for me move. Hopefully soon I can work longer on these!
Continuing to pack boxes today and finish up what work I had left... Going to be officially moving on the 30th! It'll be great to move into the bigger space, its a 3 bedroom townhouse condo and I'm gonna treat the living room like a studio haha. Which means theres gonna be a fireplace :D! Living right at the start of the kancamangus highway in New Hampshire. Only a few towns away but just not being stuck in a 1 bedroom apartment working all day sounds awesome.
I've been getting some really great job offers lately and I'm finally starting to really enjoy putting in the hours for freelance. Not that I didnt before, but when you get work for subject matter you truly love then everything is way easier! Been doing this for 2 years or so now and moved twice across the country in that time. Time to just stop moving around so much so I can hopefully save some money hahaha.
Anyways, I'll try and do something before the 30th to post. Hopefully I can get something out but if not I'll be back on the 2nd or so :).
Just finished this WoW commission for a player's character... Did two versions, one for me and one for the client. The other version has a day setting that wasn't in my original thumb, but a request. It didn't work as well so I didn't wanna put out a piece I wasn't exactly satisfied with... Its in the style of my previous WoW pieces.
No art today... yet. Almost done with a piece I've been workin on for a client. Should be posting it later on :).
Wanted to link to a cool update my brother just wrote about self motivation. Although he talks about this in terms of getting in shape and feeling better about life... It applies to everything in life you strive for :). We had a long cool talk last night about all this and he summed it up pretty well.
Got a contract from WotC! I'm really excited to do some work with them! In the meantime I'm just working on character concepts and a illustration for a client... Not all too much stuff but yea, finished early so I did another portait. I told myself I wouldn't do another one and that I'd invest time in full illustration but I couldn't resist D:. Theyre just so easy and fun... Plus they fit right into my 'after work - before bed' time. I'll try not to do one tomorrow :O.
Anyways, this one took around 2 hours, funnn stuff
Finished some work today and settled two bigger freelance gigs :). Got some fun work ahead of me that I'm excited about! Decided to finish a sketch I started last night. Nothin crazy, another 1-2 hour portrait.
Finished all my freelance early today so I decided to put some time into a new portrait like the ones below :). Around an hour or so, lots of fun! I'm gonna try and get more time in for my personal stuff everyday since im not dying under deadlines :)!
Just finished a book cover :D! Hopefully I'll be able to show it by the end of the year... Gotta check when NDA's clear as far as book covers go. I'll try and update with some new personal art really soon. My schedule is starting to get less cluttered! Thank god that freelance work has slowed some... Had to really take on a lot of work for the move and managaed to actually finish on time.
Another cool thing is I got my art up on Blizzard.com's fannart section and is bringin in a bit of traffic so hopefully... somehow... that brings some sort of cool fantasy work. maaaaybe.
Really busy at the moment so I haven't really had any time for personal work so my updates have slowed... I'm moving into a new place soon so I'm trying to put away money taking in more freelance. As soon as I reach the amount I'm goin for I'll get back into personal work. Shouldn't take that long but we'll see... Would love to get back into studies and really push life studies so I can improoooveee :(.
